Vacay: Day 5
Before I start I have an announcement or three. You might have received an award and not realized it, go HERE.
If you have not yet voted on the battle of the cereal mascots, go HERE.
And most importantly I have guest posted at Life by Chocolate again with another candy interview, go HERE for that awesomeness.
Onto our regular scheduled programming.
I went on vacation in the beginning of June and I'm only on day 5 of it, man I am slow. I actually have to backtrack to day 3 because I totally forgot to mention something. Nicole and I went buffalo riding on the beach. Can you believe that, they had buffaloes in Virgina at the beach. You probably don't believe it and you shouldn't because I am lying like a cheap rug. We actually went horseback riding on the beach. A bit more believable?
We saw them on Friday when we were walking down the boardwalk and thought it would be cool to try it out. We trekked by the little stable and got the phone number to make an appointment for the next day. I called early on Saturday and made an appointment for 4 o'clock. The guy on the phone emitted the intelligence of Gomer Pyle. I wanted to give us enough time because we had the murder mystery dinner that night. We also had a coupon for $5 off each person for half hour ride.
We arrive a few minutes before 4 to see three people going off for a ride. They took our appointment!! The guy's said that he thought they were us. Ummm, we had an appointment for 2, there were 3 of them and they just walked up and you assumed they were us? Nicole and I were pretty pissed. The guy fumbled through the appointment book and was like "oh, sorry about that." We had to wait a half hour to go for our ride. Since they were douches we got an extra $10 off plus our coupons.
I'll tell ya, I have never ridden a horse before. I've been on a pony twice in my life and those were in my younger days. Riding a horse is not as easy as it seems. Somehow I picked the stubborn horse, his name was Red Bull. Nicole got the big ass horse named King. I think RedBull was tired and didn't want to take another trip across the hot sand. They had to pull him along a few times but he got goin' eventually. One of the employees told me to kick him hard to go fast. I kicked and he bolted, it is a bumpy ride in the sand. I don't know how people ride bareback. It was fun but next time I need to remember to put on suntan lotion.......OUCH!!
I look sexy in a helmet, right?
For day 5 I assume we went back to the beach. I have a hard time peeing in the ocean. What, you don't go #1 in the ocean? I wasn't walking back to the hotel to take a leak when the ocean is right there. If the whales and fishies can do it then so can I. I need to be very still in order to take a piss. The motion of the ocean makes in very difficult. I have to stand in with the water knee level in order to do my business, then I wash off in the water. If you saw me standing there I probably would have a really odd look on my face.
For dinner we decided on Hooters. I had only been to Hooter once in my life and I believe Nicole had never been. We were poppin' her Hooters cherry. I got the spicy jack wings which were tasty but not hot at all. Also after about 8 of them they got a little sickening but I hate wasted food so I forced the last 2 down. I think Nicole got a burger. I have no idea how it was, I'm sure I had a bite but I can't give any opinions on it. I'm sure it was tasty.
I probably shouldn't give a review of the Hooters' girls cuz I will most likely get into trouble. All I will say is that they are "equipped" to work there. You should at least go to Hooters once to at least check it out.
Don't forget to check out my guest post on RawknRobyn's blog Life by Chocolate, click HERE. Show here some love while you are there and follow her if you don't already.

Is it Bologna or Boloney?
I wrote this post back when I had no followers. Now I have over 100!! I hit 100 followers on Monday or Tuesday I think and forgot to mention it. Where would I be without all of you? Thanks for following 'Just the Cheese', you are all awesome in your own way. Sorry ahead of time about the language in the post, I had some built up aggression in my earlier writing.
I have never understood the English language entirely. For instance who the hell decided on the spelling of words? Was it one guy or like a board meeting type of situation where everybody gives their idea and then it's voted on? One word I never understood especially when I was younger is "colonel." What happened to the "R?" Other words like bologna, knife, phlegm and cough. Why do we need silent letters in the first place, do they help us at all in school when we are learning how to read?
Okay Timmy spell the word 'knife.' Timmy sounds it out and says N-I-F-E. No Timmy I'm sorry but there is a 'K' at the beginning. What the fuck you talking about 'K' at the beginning? It's not KA-NIFE, who put that 'K' there? You're telling me the 'K' is silent? Oh like KFUCK YOU!!
How come we don't have silent letters in our names? I'm going to add a 'Z' in my name so it's JAMZIE now, don't forget that the 'Z' is silent. I have actually thought about this before but I forgot about it until I saw a Katt Williams stand up where he does an entertaining skit involving the pronunciation of words. I kind of stole it from him but I'm sure he won't sue, I'm not getting paid like he is. Also Jim Gaffigan does a small bit about it. I love Jim Gaffigan, I think he's hilarious, he talks about the most simplest things and makes them funny like hot pockets and bacon.
Maybe 'colonel' is spelled that way because we already have 'kernel' and nobody wants to be a 'kernel' in the armed forces.
Why can't words just be spelled the way they sound? I would really like to find out the back story on the spelling of these ridiculous words. The ironic thing is that I'm a stickler for spelling words correctly. I used to edit my texts so they the words were spelled right and it would bother me if I didn't do it. I'm better now but I'm still a little anal about it. You know what is bullshit, my Microsoft Word is screwed up and I can't use spell check on it. It sucks for doing school work, I have to email it to myself and spell check it at the library or Nicole's house.
Okay I have wandered away from the subject once again but that's what makes it interesting or something along those lines. Wherever I was going with this is now gone. I might write a follow up piece if I can remember what I was talking about. "And I'm Ron Burgundy. Go fuck yourself, San Diego."

I Deserve an Award and So Do You
I have received another award to add to my stockpile. Geof over at ETMC (Enter the Man-Cave) has been gracious enough to give me the Versatile Blogger award. I have received this award before from Kimberly @ A Spicy Boy, a Cat and My Fat Ass but I will accept it again.
I never participate 100% in the award giving aspect so I thought I would finally dive right in.
The rules for this award are as follows:
- Give thanks to the person who nominated you
- List 7 things about yourself
- Give this award to 15 of your favorite bloggers
Wait a second. I cheated a little by copying and pasting the above rules from Geof's post and I realized it says "the person that nominated you". Does this mean that there is a final vote? Do I not get the award yet? Let's pretend that I won and forget that the word nominated was ever mentioned.
I would like to thank Geof over ETMC for bestowing this fantastic award on me. I wish it was tangible so I could put it on my mantle with my Perfect Attendance Trophy from 5th grade and my 3rd place plague for most boogers picked in 11 grade. I might have those grades backwards. Geof is one of my first followers and I have been lucky enough to guest post on his blog. Go check out ETMC when you have a chance, you will especially like it if you dig horror movies.
Now on to little known facts about me (little known to the blog world, well known to friends and family)
1.) I pooped in the shower once when I was younger trying to fart.
2.) My dad passed away when I was 12 back in 1996 of Diabetes.
3.) I love cinnamon
4.) I have the best future wife anybody could ask for.
5.) I was caught looking at porn in the library by the librarian in high school.
6.) My first car was a 1984 Monte Carlo (piece o' shit).
7.) When I was 14 I lost my eyesight almost completely and it hasn't been the same since. (The details are for another post sometime in the near future).
Damn, now I have to pick 15 of my favorite blogs?!? That is a lot. I want to recognize some blogs I have been following for awhile and some that I recently found. They are in no particular order, I don't play favorites here.
8.) The Non-Review - I have been following T.S.'s blog for awhile now. I try to read everything he writes. I think I only missed some posts when I went on vacation. He is very original and creative and I am proud to say that I have guest posted for him. I know I probably have given him an award in the past but he deserves another.
14) The Blog O' Cheese - Cheeseboy is hilarious and you never know what he is going to write next. I try to visit his cheesiness as much as possible, I can't get enough of his antics. He recently did a vlog from inside a Mcdonald's playland when he hit 300 followers.
6) Kitty Tells It As It Is - Kitty is a very talented and awesome writer. She writes about her life and gets you hooked right away. She doesn't post that often but when she does it has to be read.
9) Apocalypse Now - Chuck gives his take on daily events, news, media and whatever he finds. It's humorous and original. He is a loyal reader and his blog is under the radar. Go give him some love and say that I sent you.
2) Crazy Penguin Ramblings - Nippy, I actually know outside of blogger. He is one of my buddies at work. His blog isn't well known and it should be. He focuses a lot o video games and movies. he is very smart and is full of useless knowledge. Go check him out.
4) Livin the Dream - I don't know remember how I stumbled across this blog but it blew my mind when I read one of the posts. Stylez writes about some crazy stories. They are pretty intense and right in your face. I don't know if all the stories are true but they are highly entertaining. His last post is called My Butt Period. Check it out on your own risk.
10) Stupidation - Mr. Stupid has a talent for taking mishaps in his life and turning them into pure gold. Some of the stuff he writes you won't believe but you will be rolling from it.
1) The Giraffability of Digressions - Cruella Collett loves giraffes just like me, 'nuff said.
13) Pat Tillett - Pat is a very talented writer. The stories he tells are amazing. He also posts pictures from his travels that are awesome. He somehow always captures whatever he is taking a picture of perfectly.
5) Life by Chocolate - How can I not give Robyn an award? She is my new blogger buddy. She is always leaving me funny comments and emails. She might need to go to CA (Chocoholics Anonymous) soon. She recently let me guest post on her blog and it was a rawkyn good time.
3) The Invisible Seductress - Seductress is always turning mundane events into super funny and wacky posts. I never know what to expect when I read her blog. She sure can whip up a good tale.
12) Something To Talk About - Passionofthemom has some serious movie game skills. She almost always gets all the answers. Her blog is highly entertaining and you should stop by it sometime.
15) Finding Neverland - Margg writes some beautiful poetry and it always makes me think. She is very insightful and she is an Aussie.
7) The Stupid Bet - Reputation @ Stake is like T.S.'s twin, they both have similar personalities. Rep @ Stake is guest hosting a lot on The Non-Review. He is very clever and original. I just realized I haven't been over to his blog in awhile. Time to pay him a visit.
11) Road Rage!! - We have all been in those awful driving situations that make you want to pull your hair out, well Sara writes about those experiences with utter disdain for her fellow drivers. I read her posts and I think 'that just happened to me'. Her blog is new and she needs more followers.
Man, it is tough giving out 15 blog awards. Now I have to make sure to contact everybody. I urge you to check out at least one of these blogs that you are not following. Spread the love but not the STD's.
Go vote on The Battle of the Cereal Mascots if you haven't already, go HERE.
My goal is 25 votes. Your vote counts.
The Movie Game
It's that time again. Let's see what you can do. I hope you have been watching your Netflix.
RULES: I present you with two movies, for example: The Matrix and Miss Congeniality. The object of the game is to link them together to another movie by connecting the actors/actresses. The link in this case is Speed using Keanu Reeves from The Matrix and Sandra Bullock from Miss Congeniality. Another example is: Link Top Gun & The Shining. The answer is A Few Good Men, using Tom Cruise from Top Gun and Jack Nicholson from The Shining. Get it?
Now they all aren't this easy and sometimes there are multiple answers. The questions range from easy to hard and sometimes I like to throw in a challenging one to test those true movie buffs. You earn points for correct answers and I keep track of every one's points on the side of my blog. There is going to be a prize awarded to the winner. Try not to use the Internet. This is a game of memory and skill. I ONLY ACCEPT ANSWERS IN THE FORM OF AN EMAIL, DO NOT PUT YOUR ANSWERS IN A COMMENT, LET EVERYONE HAVE A FAIR CHANCE AT PLAYING. EMAIL ANSWERS TO reviewsyoucantuse@gmail.com. GOOD LUCK!!

Medium - Link: Forever Young & Robin Hood: Men in Tights (worth 2 points)
Hard - Link: Reign Over Me & Apt Pupil (worth 3 points)
Challenge - Link: The Faculty & Changeling & The Lion King (worth 5 points)
Here is the new addition to the game. It's sort of like the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon but instead of using Mr. Bacon I am going to give you 2 random actors/actresses and you have to find the quickest link using movies. For example: Will Smith to Al Pacino. The answer could be: Will Smith in Men in Black with Tommy Lee Jones who is in Batman Forever with Chris O'Donnell who is in Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino. If you finding a quicker link than good for you. The less movies you use, the more points you get.
Link: Jack Lemmon to Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Link: Forest Whitaker to Nicole Kidman
Points are as follows:
In same movie together: 5 points
Using 2 movies: 4 points
3 movies: 3 points
4 movies: 2 points

Battle of the Cereal Mascots: You Pick
The start of a new battle is upon on. Ever since the Game Show Host Battle I have been pondering who or what would duke it out in the next battle. Since Bob Barker was the ultimate victor in the last battle I asked his opinion, he suggested cereal mascots. Bob has some great ideas. I should go to him more often.
Have you ever wondered which mascot is top dog? So here is what's going down. I will be pitting 2 mascots up against each other each week, there will be 8 mascots in the battle. There will be one round each week. After 4 weeks there will be 4 mascots left and they will duke it out until there are only 2 remaining. Then there will be one final battle to decide who is the ultimate cereal mascot.
The best thing about it is that you get to vote who wins in each round (like America Idol but a lot more fun and no Ryan Seacrest). Here is where I need your assistance. There are 20 cereal mascots listed below, your mission is to choose 8 that you would like to see battle it out. I have warned all mascots not to bribe or sway your votes in any way. Tell me your 8 picks in a comment please. The goal is 25 votes. Choose Wisely!!
Mascot - Cereal
Tony the Tiger - Frosted Flakes
Trix Rabbit - Trix
Buzz Bee - Honey Nut Cheerios
Count Chocula - Count Chocula
Lucky the Leprechaun - Lucky Charms
Dig 'Em Frog - Smacks
Cornelius Rooster - Corn Flakes
Cookie Crook, Officer Crumb & Chip the Dog - Cookie Crisp
Barney Rubble & Fred Flintstone - Fruity Pebbles
Granny - Waffle Crisp
Wendell the Baker - Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Snap, Crackle & Pop - Rice Krispies
Toucan Sam - Froot Loops
Sonny Bird - Cocoa Puffs
Cap'n Crunch - Cap'n Crunch
Mikey - Life
The Letter A - Alpha-Bits
Little Bite - Frosted Mini Wheats
Sunny - Raisin Bran
Sugar Bear - Golden Crisp
* Mascots for Cookie Crisp, Rice Krispies and Fruity Pebbles count as one mascot.
The polls close on Sunday at 11:59 PM. The first round will commence on Tuesday. Did you remember to pick only 8? Tell your fellow bloggers to come by and vote.

I have been meaning to join the Friday Follow since it started but I always forgot to link up. I'm not exactly sure how this whole thing works but I will give it a whirl. My Goal is to hit 100 followers by my blogiversary which is in like 2 weeks. I know I can do it, I just need some support from YOU!
Don't forget to come by on Monday for some Trivia Corner. Don't be the kid that doesn't get picked for kickball.

If you want to know who or what the new battle is going to contain you are going to have to come back next week to find out. I'm pretty excited about it. I predict it's going to be lots of fun.
Show me some love.

Repost: Superhero Accesory
I am having a little creative writer's block. I have plenty of ideas for posts but my brain can't pump out anything creative or funny. So instead of not posting anything I decided to delve into my archives. I wrote this back in September of 2009 I don't think anyone read it.
The new fashion fad for next year is going to be capes. I'm starting my own cape business, now everyone can be fashionable along with magicians, superheroes and eccentric, rich old geezers. I will probably be up and running by the beginning of 2010. Here are some of my different cape ideas:
- Fireproof cape - geared towards firefighters and home safety
- Glow in the dark cape - for clubbing and night time fun
- Waterproof cape - to wear in the rain or pool
- Stain resistant cape - for clean freaks
- Mini cape - for the vertically challenged, kids or don't like full size
- Look at me cape (with lights and sounds) - for attention whores
- Floatation Device cape - in case you're on the Titanic
- Parachute cape - may come in handy
- Bib cape - for the fancy baby
- Groomsman cape - an addition to the top hat and cane
- Purse cape - with pockets so women don't need to carry a bag
- Roll-up cape - rolls up into a pouch like a hood for when you don't need it
- Blanket cape - is thicker for the colder nights
- Advertising cape - market your business
- Animal cape - a penguin would look awesome, it already has the tuxedo
I want to give partial credit to my buddy Dustin Horton for creating these brilliant ideas. We got bored on the way back from a sales conference in Pittsburgh and started talking about capes for some reason. We talked for like an hour about it in detail and were laughing hysterically. I think the monopoly guy could use a nice cape. If you have any creative cape suggestions please let me know. This is definitely going to catch on........well probably not.

Olive Garden Review
Last week for my birthday we dined at the Olive Garden. I still haven't received any birthday cards from any of you, I must have given out the address to the Powdered Toast Cave instead of the Powdered Toast House. I will clear that up later.
The nearest Olive Garden to me is somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes away depending on how fast the wagon and horses are going. Since it is not in a close proximity I don't go there as often as I would like. I can't even remember the last time I was there before my birthday but I do remember where Nicole and I sat last time (funny how my memory works).
You stay for the delicious food but you come for the warm bread sticks and homemade salad. What's best is that they are free and unlimited. A fellow blogger told me last week (I can't remember who it was) that they recycle their salad. I'm not sure what this exactly means but it's the tastiest recycled salad I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth.
For an appetizer I recommend the Lasagna Fritta: Parmesan-breaded lasagna pieces, fried and served over alfredo sauce, topped with parmesan cheese and marinara sauce and the Smoked Mozzarella Fonduta: Oven-baked smoked mozzarella, provolone, parmesan and romano cheese. Served with Tuscan bread. Both of them are extremely delectable and you won't be disappointed unless you don't get enough of it. Oh, I can almost taste the cheesy goodness. It's like an orgasm in your mouth, it's that good.
Every time I go to Olive Garden I have to get something that says new next to it. I am a sucker for anything new plus they are usually only around for a limited time so I am basically obligated to try it. For dinner I went surf and got the Shrimp and Crab Tortelli Romana: Shrimp, crab and smoked mozzarella-filled ravioli, topped with sautéed shrimp in a three cheese and sun-dried tomato sauce. If you are wondering if it was as scrumptious as it sounds, it was and then some. I purposely ate only half so I could have enough for leftovers the next day. Anyone hungry yet?
I am going to take your mind off food for a minute with some Chef Thoughts:
Did I remember to wash my hands after going to the bathroom? Ah, I don't care, I'm not eating this salad.
Four years at a prestigious culinary school and I'm fucking working at an Olive Garden.
That new waitress is so hot, dibbs!!
If anybody sends back food today they are getting a surprise from my nose in their order.
I hope that's poison ivy I'm scratching on my inner thigh.
Dunna nunna nunna nunna nunna nunnna nunnna nunna BATMAN!!
That fourth breakfast burrito was a bad idea.
How come they never showed Dr. Claw's face in Inspector Gadget? Or did I miss it?
I would make a hot woman.
For dessert I sampled 3 mini cake sundaes. There was a dark chocolate one with caramel, a strawberry and white chocolate and an amaretto tiramisu with almond cookie crumble. I basically had to eat all 3 by myself because everyone else was full and nobody else wanted any. I didn't care, more for me.
On top of that my mom got me an assorted cheesecake cake. There was probably 15-20 slices of all different kinds: Strawberry, blueberry. caramel, apple, cherry chocolate, and much more. Only Nicole and I like cheesecake so we got it all to ourselves. It works out when the rest of your family is picky.
Where is your nearest Olive Garden? Have you ever been? What are you waiting for, an invitation? By the way, I checked and they don't seem to have an actual olive garden on the premises. It must be at their corporate office.

The Movie Game
Welcome back to another rousing addition of the movie game. Buckle those safety belts and enjoy the ride.
GOOD LUCK!!
Easy - Link: The Hurricane & Stranger Than Fiction (worth 1 point)
Medium - Link: The Hurricane & Stranger Than Fiction (worth 2 points)
Hard - Link: The Hurricane & Stranger Than Fiction (worth 3 points)
Challenge - Link: 15 Minutes & Lady in the Water & Runaway Jury (worth 5 points)
Link: Nick Nolte to Richard Jenkins
Link: Anne Hathaway to Philip Baker Hall
Points are as follows:
In same movie together: 5 points
Using 2 movies: 4 points
3 movies: 3 points
4 movies: 2 points

Q & A
First I would like to give a big shout out to RawknRobyn @ Life by Chocolate for letting me guest post yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Thank you all for the great comments. If you haven't read my guest post yet go HERE and then make sure you come back and finish this post.
Today I am going to Six Flags so I had to go to sleep early which means I didn't get a chance to reply to all the comments I got and read all the blogs I normally do. I will catch up this weekend.
I am also extending The Movie Game until Monday so go read the questions again and email me your answers. I will post the answers on Monday.
So today is just a quick post.
Feel free to be as serious or creative as you want.
1) How does your spouse/significant other feel about your blogging?
2) If you could create a NEW and ORIGINAL superhero, what would their name and powers be and who would be their arch-nemesis?
3) What is the worst movie you have ever seen?
4) Would you rather lay in a bathtub filled with cockroaches for one hour or run barefoot for one mile across the hot beach sand wearing your warmest winter clothes?
5) What one word describes me (Powdered Toast Man)?
Feel free to leave your answers in a comment or email me at reviewsyoucantuse@gmail.com

Bikinis vs Bras: The Mystery
I have been pondering something for awhile and I can never figure out the answer. Why is not socially acceptable for women to walk around in their bras and panties? Isn't wearing a bikini at the beach the same thing? I look at a bikini top and bottom being the equivalent of a bra and panties. I know the bikini top isn't for support but more for concealment and looks. Nobody really judges women's bathing suit attire but if a woman is wearing something revealing on the street she is looked at as slutty.
There is definitely a double standard going on here or something equivalent to that. I'm not sure if I'm using the double standard principle correctly here. Men are always trying to get a woman down to their bras and panties. Wouldn't it be less work just to go to the beach?
If a woman walked down the street in her bra and panties, you would think it was odd. But if she walked down the street in a bikini then it's perfectly acceptable. That just doesn't make sense in my head. Both attires are covering up the same parts.
People are half naked at the beach and it's normal. When a guy has his shirt off anywhere else it just seems kind of douchey and creepy. Society is strange. Am I wrong?
Don't forget to email me your movie game answers. If you haven't played yet go HERE.
I also guest posted for RawknRobyn @ Life by Chocolate. You can check that out HERE.

Something Fun About Me
Guess what everybody? Today is my 26th BIRTHDAY!!! I will be expecting a card from each and every one of you in a week's time. I prefer cash over personal checks. Since today is my b-day I am going to share something about myself that you probably didn't know.
I have a giraffe obsession. Why you ask? Why not? They are a cool looking animal. It all started somewhere in my teens. I always joked that I wanted a pony for my birthday or Christmas. One year I thought I would be funny and ask for a giraffe. Well I got one. No, not a real one but that would have been awesome. I think it was a stuffed animal or something.
From this Christmas on I received something giraffe orientated every year, up until a few years ago when my mom couldn't find anything else giraffe related. It was a humorous tradition and I still have most of the stuff I got.
Here is the list.
Here are some cool facts about giraffes that you might not have known.

From this Christmas on I received something giraffe orientated every year, up until a few years ago when my mom couldn't find anything else giraffe related. It was a humorous tradition and I still have most of the stuff I got.
Here is the list.
- A Toys R Us Geoffrey stuffed animal that talks. My dog attacked its voice box one day so it doesn't work anymore.
- One of the first toys I got was a plastic mechanical giraffe that walked when you flipped it's tail up. Again my dog attacked this and broke it.
- An African wooden giraffe mask, that my brother sat on and broke in half. I glued it back together.
- A plastic giraffe mask that can be used for Halloween or costume party.
- A beanie baby giraffe named Twigs.
- A key chain giraffe. All it's fur is gone. Its pretty worn but it's still on my keys.
- A ceramic giraffe side table.
- Four plastic giraffe figurines.
- Giraffe picture frame.
- My background on my ipod is a giraffe
- I have a cute cartoon giraffe in my phone.
- I am following a blog called The Giraffability of Digressions. Giraffablility is my new favorite word.
Here are some cool facts about giraffes that you might not have known.
- They have 17 inch black tongues
- They can lick their own ears.
- They have no vocal chords.
- They're necks have the same amount of bones as a human neck.

The Movie Game (Guest Host)
Today's movie game is being hosted by Nippy the Penguin. All the questions are from his mind, I had nothing to do with them. Now get crackin'!!
GOOD LUCK!!
Easy - Link: Interview with the Vampire & Witness (worth 1 point)
Medium - Link: Eastern Promises & A league of Their Own (worth 2 points)
Hard - Link: Star Wars A New Hope & Hidalgo (worth 3 points)
Challenge - Link: Titanic & Working Girl & The Rock (worth 5 points)
Here is the new addition to the game. It's sort of like the 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon but instead of using Mr. Bacon I am going to give you 2 random actors/actresses and you have to find the quickest link using movies. For example: Will Smith to Al Pacino. The answer could be: Will Smith in Men in Black with Tommy Lee Jones who is in Batman Forever with Chris O'Donnell who is in Scent of a Woman with Al Pacino. If you finding a quicker link than good for you. The less movies you use, the more points you get.
Link: Rutger Hauer to Seth Rogen
Link: Liam Neeson to Olympia Dukakis
Points are as follows:
In same movie together: 5 points
Using 2 movies: 4 points
3 movies: 3 points
4 movies: 2 points
5 + movies: 1 point

Top 10 Cartoons
I was going to do a top 10 list of my favorite cartoons from my childhood but I found more than 10 and I couldn't narrow it down. These are in no particular order because it would be too hard to do that. I miss my old cartoons. Cartoons nowadays just don't stand up to the oldies. The only ones that I like nowadays are SpongeBob SquarePants, Jimmy Neutron, and Fairly Odd Parents.
Duck Tales - I have to say that this one is one of my favorites. I love the theme song, I used to have it as a ring tone on my phone. I really like the video game too for Nintendo.
Darkwing Duck - Sadly this show only lasted 2 years, I don't know why, it was kick-ass. I loved the theme music to this show too.... "let's get dangerous."
Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers - I currently have this set as my text message ring tone. Did you know that the voice of Monterey Jack was Peter Cullen, same guy that does the voice of Optimus Prime from Transformers (cartoon & movies).
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - This is probably my all time favorite show. I had most of the action figures, bed sheets, pajamas and I was a ninja turtle for Halloween back in the day and again when I was 19 wearing the same costume from when I was 5. It was hilarious. I probably have a pic somewhere that I will have to post another day.
Doug - I always used to wonder how to spell his last name. What is 'Funny' or 'Funnie'? It's Funnie, I just looked it up on IMDb.
Pinky and the Brain - I liked this show more than Animaniacs. I believe this started as a short on there first before it got it's own time slot. NARF! TROZ! ZORT! POIT!
Tale Spin - Did you know that Sally Struthers did the voice for Rebecca Cunningham? I always thought it was Kirstie Alley for some reason. I always loved this game for Nintendo too. Also Michael Gough (Alfred from Tim Burton's Batman) did the voice for Colonel Spigot.
Bobby's World - The days when Howie Mandel had hair. I totally forgot about this show until I was surfing Wikipedia for old cartoons.
Garfield and Friends - I still read the Garfield comic strip.
Spider-Man - I never read the comics but I loved the cartoon. MARY JANE!!!!
X-men - Another cartoon with an awesome opening theme intro. Gambit is my favorite X-men.
Inspector Gadget - I didn't realize this show was from 1983. I must have watched reruns because I was born in '84. Go go gadget copter.
The Angry Beavers - This one is later in my childhood. I don't think I liked it at first but then it grew on me.
Captain Planet and the Planeteers - It seems like this cartoon should be on nowadays because of the saving the environment angle. This show is so corny but I liked it for some reason.
The Simpsons - On since 1989, they are still making original episodes. I don't really watch it that much anymore but I watched it all the time in my younger days. I will catch an episode here or there when I can.
I know I'm missing some but I didn't want the list to be too long. I should probably have Transformers, Smurfs, Fragglerock, Thundercats, Batman and a bunch of others but I wanted to name some that might have flown under the radar.
Anyone remember Doug's bangin' on a trash can song? Here is a cool video of that song.

Repost: Marshmallow Fluff
This was my first pros and cons post back when nobody was following me. It is one of my faves. Nippy actually helped me with this one. We were brainstorming pros and cons at work one night. For some reason the spacing and font size is all wacky and I can't seem to fix it. Oh well, enjoy it anyway.
- Very tasty snack
- Made of marshmallow
- Can fix a leaky sink
- Can be used as whiteout
- The Fluffernutter would not exist without it
- Good sugar high
- Great name for a snack food
- Instant Santa Claus beard
- Used as a good prank food like whipped cream
- Hide other food underneath the table with it
- Acts as a Nair replacement
- Caulk around the bathtub with it
- Give grandma a facial
- Style your hair
Cons
- A bit too sweet
- Way too sticky
- Actually I just tried and it cannot fix a leaky sink
- Your high friends might mistake your homework for a snack after using it as whiteout
- Extremely difficult to get out of the jar
- Might have to explain to your coworkers why it looks like you have dried semen around your mouth
- Terrible name for a kid
- Very difficult to roast over the campfire
- After a few days, having to deal with the smell coming from underneath the table
- Girlfriend kills you after using Marshmallow Nair
- Lots of insects in your bathtub

Vacay: Day 4
I have been meaning to write this post since last week. I am way behind on my vacation posts but I guess it doesn't matter when I post them as long as I do. I still have four more days to cover after this one. Now on to the show.
We both got sunburned on day 3 of vacation so we decided it would be a good idea not to go to the beach and risk 2nd degree burns. I'm having a brain fart, which is worse 1st degree burns or 3rd degree burns? I think it's 3rd degree.
Instead we decided to got to a magical place for breakfast instead of eating the continental breakfast downstairs in the hotel lobby. What is the name of this magical place you ask? It's a little place called IHOP. Shame on you if you have never experienced the wonders of the delicious IHOP. I was a little apprehensive about going on a Sunday because it's usually jammed packed. However we were going at like 9 in the morning so it wasn't busy yet.
Strangely enough I never get the pancakes at IHOP, I usually go for some french toast or something different. This time was different because I saw something that caught my eye. There was a picture of double blueberry pancakes, it looked so scrumptious I almost ate the menu. I had to have them in my tummy but then I saw that they had strawberry cheesecake pancakes. I had to make a life changing choice; double blueberry or strawberry cheesecake pancakes? Which do you think I chose? Which one would you have chosen? I will let you ponder that for a second, cue Jeopardy theme here.

......
....
I had to go with my first instinct here, that's always the safest bet. I declared "sir waiter, I would like to partake in the tasting of these tantalizing blueberry delights" (I didn't actually say that but it would of been funny). I also got home fries with cheddar cheese, fried eggs, bacon and some rye toast without butter. I wanted my toast without butter so I could fashion a bacon and egg sammich (yes I said sammich, got a problem with that?) with just a hint of ketchup and hot sauce. For the life of me I can't remember what Nicole got, I was too mesmerized by my delectable pancakes. I think she got an omelet but I can't be sure. I have never tried crack but I can make an assumption that these blueberry stacks of heaven are as addicting. I urge you to go to your nearest IHOP and prepare your taste buds for a magic ride down delicious lane. I should be getting paid by IHOP for this awesome plug.
The only disappointment came when I learned that they didn't have those loaded home fries that I raved about in my first IHOP review back in March. They also didn't have the new coffees that I had back in March but my disappointment only last a few seconds.
Later that day (after our breakfast had settled) we rented a surrey (a bike with 4 wheels that seats 2-6 people). We found a coupon for buy one hour for $14.99 get second hour free. We cruised up and down the boardwalk. This bike is fun but it is also a lot of exercise, it's not easy peddling this thing. Click on the pics to enlarge them.
It was hot that day. It's a good thing that surrey has a roof. At one point we got some snow cones and found a nice shady spot to enjoy them. Mmmm snow cone juice.
I can't remember what we did for lunch that day but we got a philly cheese steak pizza and some cheese bread from a place that we ordered from last year. Again we had a coupon. We had many coupon books and usually only did or ate something that had a coupon, gotta save money somehow. We had it delivered to the hotel this time. We were foolish enough to drive to the pizzeria last year, who does that?
Last year the pizza was deliciously cheesy. This year it was very greasy and not as good. Frankly, I was a little disappointed. The cheese bread was tasty though. That pizza sat in my stomach like a rock.
I don't want to end this post on a bad note in light of the pizza. I will imagine eating at IHOP to change the mood. Tune in next week for vacay day 5.

Update on the Wedding Front
After looking at a total of 7 places, we finally found where we are getting married. Every time we found some place we liked we realized that we couldn't afford it and we got depressed. We finally found a place that is what we were looking for with a decent price tag attached. Our magical venue is called Anthony's Pier Nine in New Windsor, New York. This place is HUGE!! I got some exercise just taking a tour of the place.
Since we were having trouble finding an affordable place, Nicole asked a few of her friends that were getting married for some advice. One of them told her about Pier Nine. Nicole researched it, liked what she saw so we checked it out a week and a half ago.
The first thing we noticed when walking up to the door were the fountains and the Cinderella carriage.

The first thing we noticed when walking up to the door were the fountains and the Cinderella carriage.
This was taken from their website. I don't know who these people are.
As we were walking through the different rooms, the lady was telling us that a lot of stuff was about to be renovated. The cocktail room was totally getting changed, it is going to be extended and have more natural light come in to it. The outdoor gardens were being upgraded with an outdoor bar and gazebo. As she was explaining this to us I was thinking "ca-ching, ca-ching," the price was going up in my head. I was getting worried that this place was going to be too much too. The cheapest place we found close to home was $109 per person. With what she was telling us I was thinking somewhere between $125 & $150.
The smaller room holds a minimum of 125 people which is the one we chose. The bigger room requires a minimum of 200 (which we don't think we could do) but it has a glass elevator that comes out of a stage for the bride and groom to come up in. How awesome is that? There is also a hidden set of stairs that open up to walk down onto the dance floor for the first song. I wish we knew more people. You are all invited if you can cover your plate plus 25%. We would get married in the new outdoor garden or inside facing the outdoor garden. I hope October 20th 2012 is a nice night.
You are all probably wondering about the price, I will tell you at the end. Yup, I'm a tease. Did someone say they wanted to know what was on the menu? The menu is loaded with food. There is enough in the cocktail hour to be fully satisfied. After she mentioned what was came with the cocktail hour, she said and now I will show you the entrees, I was like there's more? I'm not going to go into detail with what's on the menu because I'm just going to get hungry. I'm not sure if the menu is on their website but you can go here to check. There are drinks passed out 30 minutes before cocktail hour in case anybody arrives early and gets antsy.
There are so many things I want to tell you about this place but I don't want this post to get to long. They have a trolley service for our guests from the hotel to the venue, included in the package. We get 5 rooms (one of them the honeymoon suite) included in our package. The cake is included. Did I mention all new renovations? Brand new rooms and gardens just for us :-)
The renovations are scheduled to be finished by March of 2011, plenty of time. She assured us of that finish date. They did renovations in some of the other rooms and her boss was a stickler for finishing on time, the construction crew finished exactly when they were suppose to.
We told Nicole's parents about the place. We all went back last week for another look see and to get their opinion on it. They liked it. The only negative comment was that it is far away. It is 45 minutes from where I currently live and it would be between an hour and a half to 2 hours for Nicole's family that lives in the city. They can stay at the hotel, no big deal. We put our John Hancock's on the contract and gave them our deposit. Most places required a 15-20% deposit. This place was only $1000 plus another $3000 spread over the next year and then the final payment a week before the wedding.
You wanna know the price per person? For what we get, only $75 per person. I thought that was a great deal and we just had to jump on it. We love this place. We can't wait to go for a tasting which is done on a day of somebody else's wedding so we can try what they actually serve. Also the gardens are suppose to be done in August so we can take a look at those.
I apologize for the long post. There was just too much to tell. I probably missed a few things but I can't think of them now so it doesn't matter. Yay, we booked our venue!!! Woo-hoo!!

Review of a Candy Bar
I am the kind of guy that loves new food products. If I see a commercial for some new cheez-it flavor or something, I have to try it. I am a sucker when I go into the grocery store and see 'NEW' on any product in big bold letters just teasing me. This is especially true for the cookie, cracker, chip or candy aisle. My ultimate weakness is a new flavor of Doritos, I have to have them.
With this said, I recently saw a commercial for a new flavor of Twix, that being Twix Java, coffee flavored if you're not hip to the lingo.
One day I searched about 4 or 5 gas stations and 2 grocery stores looking for this new magical candy bar only to come up empty and an almost broken man. I found a Triple Chocolate Twix at a 7-11 but that wasn't not what I had come for. Why would they run a commercial for a candy bar that didn't exist yet? I was puzzled and I could almost taste the coffee goodness on my tongue. I had to quit the hunt, I figured it wasn't in stores just yet.
A couple of weeks went by and I had almost forgotten about the elusive treat until the other night when I stopped by the local gas station on my way home from Nicole's at 3am. I stopped to pick up some sugar so I could make brownies the next day. I took a gander down the candy bar aisle hoping to find something intriguing when there it was right next to the Peanut Butter Twix shining in all it's glory. I jumped for joy inside my head like a little kid in a candy store. I purchased it along with the sugar and took the first bite in the car. It was worth the wait.
The coffee flavor jumps out at you and enhances the already deliciousness of the Twix. It's bold but at the same time subtle, so it doesn't over power the chocolate and caramel. I finished the second piece as I was typing this and I wish I had more. If you don't like coffee than you probably won't like Twix Java. I recommend it to all that love coffee and candy bars. My next mission is to find the new pretzel M & M's.
