Simple & Fun Question of the Week

Q: What is your ultimate blogging goal?

To promote yourself as a writer/author?
To make new friends?
To just get your thoughts down?
You want to write a book?
You started one because everyone else was doing it and you you have no idea where it is going?

My thoughts good or bad down!

A little of all but the last one. I started it because I wanted to rant about something but Facebook wouldn't let me.

I probably started my Blog for number 3, but gradually moved into the other categories. Although, I've never quite had the focus to write a book and I'm too incoherent to be a fully fledged writer. Still, we can but dream...

I started just to get my writing read and not feel the pressure that comes with sharing personal pieces with family/friends.

Then it became about challenging myself and bettering my writing.

Now it has morphed into a way to expand my name, hopefully get a book published, and a career at The Indie Chicks. Within 2 years blogging has literally transformed me into a Senior Editor at an online magazine.

People think it's just a hobby or a fad but it can be SO much more. :D

To impersonate The Burger King, to expose Yogi Bear's special problems to the world and to defame Santa Claus. Besides these, it's mostly the last one. I still demand a recount.

Why, of course, to be be a blatant self-promoter and demonstrate how much fun being self-obsessed can be. Must set up a blogfest to get me loads of 'followers' or something like that.

Okay, the real reason is to share positive interaction with others and hopefully realise we can all be here for each other, rejoicing in the diversity of an all different, all equal blogging community...

Well, I'm attempting to write a book now. Unfortunately I've rewritten the first chapter hundreds of times and can't get anywhere. But, yeah, now it's kind of to make friends and to keep my writing experience high as my job is kind of sapping my creativity. It's a good outlet.

Making new friends is the closest although part of the reason was to see how blogs were created. I was just curious if it was similar to setting up web sites (which I had done several at that point). Now it has morphed a bit to trying some new things like cartooning and Photoshop.

AND...I have no idea where it is going.

I'm an oddball as I like making cards and look at the creativity. I miss the 5 questions per week-who else does them as I need that outlet for writing...if you could call it that. BTW so many read 10 books a week and make pledges of saving the world and are on step #26 by now. I am lucky to be half way through 1 book, read some magazines and save a potato chip from slipping between the sofa cushions.....mmmmmmm potato chips..

Can you believe none of those!!! I came for the trivia contests, weird competitions between make believe characters and the hope I would actually GET some toast!!!

We started one to promote our books and ourselves, but then horrifyingly, we discovered that not only did we enjoy it, but we met a lot of cool people that we genuinely started caring about. Damn our weak, pathetic human hearts.

Damn those beer boys!

Anyway...

I started my original blog as form of self therapy. Closed that one because I got stalked. Opened another blog to continue my self therapy and cured myself. Not really but sure did get better and remembered how much I loved to write. Added yet another blog so I wouldn't have to torture everyone with my endless prattling so now people can pick and chose between my writing blog or my personal blog.

Yet, I still only post once or twice a week.

Probably mainly the first 3....although one day number 4 would be awesome as well.

Once upon a time I had two blogs. This one, that I used to store all my crazy life stories and another blog that for photos. Now this blog is a hybrid of the two and has pretty much changed into a travelogue (more or less). In other words, I have no idea what I'm doing and will post darn near anything...
