Another Dirty Dozen

As you probably know I love movies. I originally started this blog to review movies but have expanded it to include random nonsense. About a month and a half ago I participated in Alex J. Cavanaugh's Dirty Dozen where I revealed my 12 favorite movies. Today I want to present you with my top 12 favorite actors. I am also going to add a random movie that I liked them in and also a movie I thought kind of sucked. These are in no particular order. I do things randomly here on the Cheese.

1) Bruce Willis - I really liked him as the voice of Mikey in Look Who's Talking, I think that movie is underrated. There really hasn't been a Bruce Willis movie that I didn't like so I will say Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, he is uncredited in that.

2) Morgan Freeman - He has been in a lot of movies. I really enjoyed Lucky Number Slevin, I think it fell under the radar. I thought Dreamcatcher was terrible.

3) Jack Nicholson - One of my favorite movies with Jack that I should of put on my dirty dozen is As Good As It Gets. A movie that I didn't care for too much was The Pledge.

4) Samuel L. Jackson - I'm a big fan of Samuel L. Lot's of films I like with him in it. If you haven't seen Unbreakable, you should, it also stars Bruce Willis. A film that really disappointed me was Freedomland with Julianne Moore.

5) Johnny Depp - Blow is a great movie. The Astronaut's Wife was a stinkeroo.

6) Edward Norton - He became my favorite actor after I saw Fight Club and Rounders. His acting was superb in his first flick Primal Fear with Richard Gere (hey that rhymed and I didn't even mean to do it). I think I least liked him in Death To Smoochy.

7) Will Ferrell - Love me some Anchorman. I wanted the hour and a half of my life back after watching Semi Pro.

8) Gerard Butler - He is really coming into his own. I think he will be one of the top actors in the near future. Law Abiding Citizen was awesome. I would not recommend Reign of Fire.

9) Clint Eastwood - I have been renting his older movies that I haven't seen. I finally saw Dirty Harry not too long ago. Gran Torino was the shiznit. I haven't seen a whole lot of Eastwood movies. I never saw Space Cowboys but I don't have any interest in seeing it.

10) Robert Downey Jr. - I love was he has been doing lately. I thought the first Iron Man was better than the second but that's how it usually goes. Go watch Sherlock Holmes if you haven't yet. He was in The Shaggy Dog, that's terrible.

11) Brad Pitt - He was terrific in Snatch. For some reason I was extremely bored watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

12) Robert De Niro - I really liked him in Casino. Godsend, not so much.

That took longer than I thought it would to think up. Choosing what movies to include took the longest. The list was easy to make. I'm sure I forgot to put some actors on there and your list might look a whole lot different. Who from my list would be on your list?

If you didn't read yesterday's post, you probably should. I highly recommend it. Why? Because RawknRobyn from Life by Chocolate guest posted. Scroll down a post to check it out or just click HERE.

Perfect list! I think I agree with each and every choice though Morgan Freeman should be #1. I would vote for Morgan Freeman to be Pres of the US.

Just what I needed! Something else to think about...
Your list is pretty good, I think I'd pick some of the same folks, but maybe not for the same movies...
I gotta carve out a chunk of time today and think about this...

Good picks, PTM, especially Johnny Depp. I loved him as a pirate. I'm guessing he likes pretzel m&m's.

Robert Downey Jr. is an amazing actor as is Morgan Freeman. Of course, Bruce Willis is pretty cool, too.

Great list!!! With the exception of Will Ferrell (because I honestly can't stomach him) - I would have picked just about everyone on that list!!!

phenomenal list my friend my list would be a bit different but must say all together great choices, but seriously how could you not love Death to Smoochy?

I agree almost completely!! =) But I didn't care for Blow or for Unbreakable. =) My favorite Samuel L Jackson movie was The Long Kiss Goodnight, and Mr. Depp was an incredible Jack Sparrow!! ;)

You clearly haven't seen Cop Out yet or you would say that one for sure for a Bruce Willis bad.

Edward Norton is my favorite actor of all time. Have you seen American History X? He deserved best actor for that role!

Depp would also be on my list.

I am a huge Matt Damon fan too. He never takes himself seriously and is so versatile. Borne movies anyone? I try not to think about Stuck On You.

PTM, I may ponder this a bit, but truly, you've nailed everyone I would have on my list just maybe in a different order. I would however have to add Al Pacino. And for Eastwood, go way back and watch some of his spaghetti westerns with Lee Van Cleef.

Wow. We have many of the same favorite actors. Even though I am really not into romance, Gerard Butler did really well in P.S. I Love You.

Some of the bad flicks you mention for each actor, I have never heard of. I suppose that is a good thing!

Great list, I love Samuel and Morgan and Bruce "die hard" Willis, but I have to say I am in love with Robert Downey Jnr from Ironman at the moment.....I may as well be a teenage boy because I am obsessed with Marvel Comics.

Great choices! I like all of the actors you've listed.

i'll be interested to see your female actors list.

i don't get the lack of love for death to smoochy. ebert has it in his This Movie Sucks! book. maybe i was just in the mood that night.

i liked space cowboys, perhaps because it's about geezers going back up there. tommy lee jones plays old in it, which, with the road wear on his face, he can do without trouble.

and finally, i listened to Dreamcatcher on tape and then saw the movie. maybe because i still had the book in my head and filled in the gaps, i liked the movie just fine.

Excellent list and I agree with many of your choices.

This is a great list (though I agree with whomever said that it missed Pacino). Now do actresses! ;)

Also, you've got an AWARD! (From me, in case that wasn't entirely clear...)
