Normally I am all about having fun on here but today I'm going to ask some serious questions. I have always wondered about every one's blogging habits and hopefully you will all tell me in a comment. To make you feel at ease I will answer my own questions.
1.) Do you have a blogging schedule? Do you post a certain amount of times each week or is it totally random?
I used to post randomly whenever I had an idea. Nowadays I forced myself to have a strict schedule. I post 3 times a week. I come up with at least one new idea every day. I read and comment on 20 blogs per day. I also reply to comments via email.
2.) Do you Blog for fun or are you an aspiring writer?
For 10 years I blogged just for funsies. Now I want to be a comedy writer so I use this as my outlet.
3.) Do you always return the favor if someone comments on a post? Do you always comment after reading a post?
99% of the time I return the favor. I feel like it is blogger etiquette to engage with your followers. I usually try to leave a funny comment on a post. I never just read and leave.
4.) Do you make any money blogging? If so, how?
No, but I want to.
5.) Who is your all time blogger buddy?
Rawkn Robyn from Life by Chocolate. We compliment each other quite nicely. Alex J. Cavanaugh is a close second.
6.) Does you spouse or significant other support your blog/writing?
At first, no. It took a loooooong time. People that don't blog just don't understand.
7.) Ask me a question.
32 comments:
I'm not an aspiring writer; neither is the blog an addiction or obsession for me.
I don't have a strict schedule. I write approx. 2-3 posts a month.
No, I'm not making money out of it.
Yes, I do reciprocate with 'folloW' and 'comments'. It's a matter of education, and I feel good about it.
I'll take second!
I blog every Monday except for IWSG post week, then it's on Wednesday.
I blog because I'm an author.
Yes, I comment and return comments.
Do book sales count as making money?
I'm going to say Retro Jeremy - dude needs the hug.
Yes, my wife supports me.
Your question - what do you like to read in a blog post?
My now wife didn't know the first year. Then she found out the 2nd year.
I started blogging because several agents suggested that I do so to build a "platform." I continue blogging because... nerts on the "platform" stuff... I genuinely care about the other bloggers I've met. I started out blogging six days a week, but now, I only blog on Fridays, except for the IWSG week, when I post on Wednesday. I absolutely respond to every comment, and then pay a reciprocal visit to their blogs to read and comment there. The interaction with other bloggers is what makes it fun.
I blog every Thursday for my movie posts and would love to post every Tuesday to showcase my cards but that keeps falling through due top health reasons and that I have no computer at home. My wonderful hubby kiboshed the computer on 3 different occasions with the last time being the final. He could have saved it..if he didn't touch it. I like to always respond and, when I haven't, it's because of my health...dizziness or away from home. I love blogging and I don't make any money on it. I love what people have to say and your blog always makes me laugh. I must know see what Mr. and Mrs. Claus are up to
1.) once per week, on saturdays. more if the mood hits me.
2.) fun only
3.) I ALWAYS comment; it's how ya keep the readers happy!
4.) no
5.) spo reflections/fearsome beard/I should be laughing are my top 3
6.) my spouse also has a blog (arteejee.blogspot.com)
7.) since I am new to your blog, tell me something about YOU.
I do have a schedule. I try to post everyday. Mondays are Raturday. Fridays are Freebie Friday. Sundays are Apartment Life. Other than that I just post whatever.
I blog for fun and because there are things I want to share. I used to be an aspiring write and even wrote a short book that is never getting published because it is complete garbage. lol I used to write articles for Yahoo Contributor Network before they closed.
I will reply to comments on my blog and if someone visits my blog I try to return the favor and comment on theirs as well. Blogging etiquette and it's nice to make new friends.
I do not make money blogging but I do occasionally get free stuff to review on my blog.
I visit close to 60 blogs a day so I have a lot of blogging buddies.
My husband does not have anything to do with my blog. My family doesn't even read my blog. They think it's weird that I put so much time into it or that anyone even reads it.
And a question for you...What are the kinds of blog posts that you like to read?
1) random
2) for fun
3) yes
4) no
5) ?
6) no
7) do you know somebody make money by blogging?
I want to evolve with my bloging and possibly change it into a fine brand, sometimes I make money from it, mostly from ads or written reviews, my husband supports that and from some time now he is also a part of creative process of posting and also the second creator of my new Youtube channel ☺
1. I have a set schedule with permission to blog less if nothing is happening. Mondays are my craft days, Tuesdays I put up a random "what if" question, and Wednesdays-Fridays are my subbing stories. Unless nothing much is happening on that front (like this week), then I might skip or post something different.
2. I blog for fun and I am an aspiring writer.
3. I try to return the favor, unless I can't find the blog. Or it's spam. But I'm not 100%, as sometimes I mean to visit, but I get distracted by life offline. I comment 98% of the time.
4. No.
1. Pretty much random.
2.I blog to be in the company of good minds, yours included.
3.I TRY! Sometimes I haven't time to respond to every blog I visit, but I try.
4.Wife and I settled an income upon ourselves 10 years ago. I make the same amount of money every day whether I write or not. It's just what I do.
5. First one that comes to mind is Susan Flett Swiderski. Another 1st is Jon Varga --we are political antipodes, but both pacifists, art patrons and gentlemen. I could go on about the wonderful minds --Lisa Southard, Harry Goaz, Anitra Ford, Ami Bera, ad infinitum-- I've encountered on Blogger, but it's nearly midnight.
6. Of course she does. She furnishes all the photos!
7.This may be an unfair question, but do you think Blogger is declining --perhaps as a venue inviting complete thoughts instead of quips of limited letters?
when I first started blogging it was totally different than what I do today..I did posts on what I liked, the town I live in..(now everyone knows about West, Texas)..and threw into some Bush bashing(April of next year will be 15 years)..then on a whim one day I did some political memes..and tossed into humor to ease the pain..did it once in a while..then it cheeped up to 3 days a week, then every 5 days a week..it was a trap..now I'm stuck with a totally different blog..feck..I had a lot of deaths hit me at one time so I laid off for a while..but I was bored..so got back on the ole horse..and now I do it Mond Wed and Friday..and still toss in a blog on West or the gg's or shit that makes me laugh..like Letterkenny..I have to admit..I had more fun with my old blog.but I have tons of more readers now too..so? do what you want..it's your blog..I think you're hysterical so I'm here and not leaving..
Interesting interview! I have been blogging for 8 years and I started my blog because I was an aspiring writer. I love meeting other bloggers and reading different blogs too. I return the favor all the time- but sometimes it takes me a little way to make my way to other blogs depending on what is going on with work and writing. Also, I do have a schedule- though it is a much slower pace than it used to be. Sometimes I am amazed at how much I used to post. :)
Have a wonderful week!
~Jess
!. I pretty much have a set schedule. Post twice a week.
2. I blog for fun. I've written a few books. I kinda suck.
3. Yes. A reach around is always appreciated. Oops, let me rephrase that.
4. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...remember that "suck" comment?
5. I think Chris Martin from Tilting With Windmills. Or Pat Hatt, Alex, and a few others. Robyn is always there, too. Want to be my friend?
6. I have no spouse or significant other. This makes me sad. I do have my hand, though. Forget I said that.
7. Is cottage cheese really cheese?
Nice interview. I loved your questions and answers.
1. I blog daily, and it usually involves an art project I've created. And I HATE e-mail. If you can't say it in public, it doesn't need to be said. Yes, I'm one of those dreaded no-reply bloggers.
2. I blog for fun and am NOT a writer.
3. I TRY to return the favor of commenting when someone leaves me one. However, sometimes I get overwhelmed with making art, leaving comments to the blogs I host, and it takes me a few days to get to those who randomly leave me comments.
4. I don't even make money on my art!
5. It depends on the time of day (grin).
6. I have no spouse and my "significant other" is the face of my blog. He's a beautiful gray four legged beauty who LOVES getting noticed.
I am in my third year of daily posting. I do it for fun. The more I write, the easier it is. I picked my first add sense check last year, 104 for three years. My hubby supports my hobbies.
Make sure that your resume references are up to date. It will be bad for an employer call your references and find the information is no longer valid. Check with your references to make sure you have the right location and phone number.bhakti Bhajan

Hello there, could you tell me which blog platform you're working with?
I'm thinking about starting my blog soon, but I can't decide between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
I'm curious because your design appears to be unique.
I'm looking for something different than other blogs.
P.S. Please accept my apologies for straying from the topic, but I had to inquire!
