3) If you could get away with killing one celebrity, who would it be and why?

4) If you could create your own holiday, what would it be called and what would it be about?

What Do We Really Know About This Frosty Character?

What is the deal with Frosty the Snowman? Have you ever actually listened to the lyrics or thought about him at all? I have some questions and concerns about Mr. Frosty. If you are somehow not familiar here are the lyrics and his likeness.

Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul,
With a corncob pipe and a button nose
And two eyes made out of coal.
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale, they say,
He was made of snow but the children
Know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that
Old silk hat they found.
For when they placed it on his head
He began to dance around.
O, Frosty the snowman
Was alive as he could be,
And the children say he could laugh
And play just the same as you and me.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow.

Frosty the snowman knew
The sun was hot that day,
So he said, "Let's run and
We'll have some fun
Now before I melt away."
Down to the village,
With a broomstick in his hand,
Running here and there all
Around the square saying,
Catch me if you can.
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop.
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler "Stop!"
For Frosty the snow man
Had to hurry on his way,
But he waved goodbye saying,
"Don't you cry,
I'll be back again some day."
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow

First off, I think the song needs to be updated. Where are kids finding coal nowadays to use for his eyes? And was it safe for kids back then to be playing with coal?
Isn't him having a corn cob pipe sending the wrong message to kids? What does he need it for? He is smoking one of two things; tobacco or marijuana. Shame on you Frosty for trying to influence our innocent children.
What in the hell does he need a broomstick for? Does he moonlight as a janitor? Is he a neat freak?
Be honest, if you made a snowman and he came to life and started to dance around, wouldn't you freak out and run home to your mom and dad? That is a little frightening. I would not be all excited and follow this strange dude into town. Stranger Danger, Stranger Danger!!!
How come he gets arms and legs if he's a snowman? I don't think the kids added those limbs on him.
Is he anatomically correct?

Can anybody answer these questions??

2) If you could create a NEW and ORIGINAL superhero, what would their name and powers be and who would be their arch-nemesis?

3) What is the worst movie you have ever seen?

4) Would you rather lay in a bathtub filled with cockroaches for one hour or run barefoot for one mile across the hot beach sand wearing your warmest winter clothes?

Random Thoughts

Anytime I think I have a good idea for a blog post I text it to my blog and it gets saved as a draft. A lot of times I never end up doing anything with it because there isn't enough info to talk about. I decided to compile what I had sitting in my drafts section and created this: Random thoughts and questions.

What is up with the Rockabye Baby nursery rhyme? Does anybody else think it is screwed up to sing a song about a baby in a cradle falling out of a tree? Go ahead, sing the song, I'll wait........... And down with come baby, cradle and all. My point exactly.

Is it pronounced Pet-Smart or Pets-Mart? Smart shopping for your pet or a mart for your pets?

Do you think that Wile E. Coyote has a line of credit at the Acme store? Or does he have an Acme credit card? If he does have one, does it earn him points for free stuff?

Who grows up wanting to be a Proctologist? You know what? I want to have my finger in strange asses all day long. It's probably good money but when do you decide to focus just on the ass?

In Kohl's there is a ladies section called Petites'. For some reason the apostrophe is outside the 's', doesn't that imply ownership? The woman's section doesn't have the apostrophe on the outside of the 's'. I don't get it. What does the petites section own?

Why is it as a guy I can name at least 5 tampon brands? I bet a woman can't name 5 makes of a circular saw. Damn advertising getting into my head.

I saw JimmyJohnson (the football coach) doing an Extenze commercial. Is he hard up for cash or does he have a problem?

Does the Three Men in a Tub nursery rhyme see strange to you at all? Why are 3 grown men bathing together? I am not homophobic but I don't ever see myself bathing with 2 other dudes. Maybe if I was like 4 and I had 2 brothers. Was there only enough water for one bath and they decided it would be okay to wash together?

Where does the money recovered from criminals go? From what I have seen on tv and movies, it gets stored as evidence. So it stays in a box in a room forever? The cops or government don't divvy it up?

Ever see a 'fallen rock zone' road sign? Why do I need to know that rocks have fallen here? If I need to be cautious, shouldn't it read 'falling rock zone'? So one rock falls and hits a car and it's deemed a fallen rock zone?

Do people born blind from birth dream? If they do, what do they dream about? Are their dreams shaded black or white and do they know the difference? Do they only dream about sounds and noises?

I always thought the lyrics in Blinded by the Light by Manfred Mann's Earth Band were 'wrapped up like a douche.' The line is actually 'rewed up like a deuce.' The original Springstein lyric was 'cut loose like a deuce.' I was always so confused, who wants to be wrapped up like a douche? Why are those the lyrics? I finally have the answer and so do you.

Feel free to answer any of the questions. If you haven't played today's Trivia Corner, it's just one post down under this one.

Q & A responses

Here are the questions and responses from last week's Q & A. My answers to the questions I received are here too. Thanks to everyone that participated. If you didn't get to play, feel free to answer the questions this time around.

1. Would you rather have 10,000 followers but no one left a comment or only one follower that commented on everything you wrote? And why?

2. Kermit

3. Smart and dumb. Unfortunately, I'm stuck somewhere in the middle.

4. No, but I'm not opposed to it.

To Nippy: A woodchuck could chuck as much wood as Peter Piper could pick a peck of pickled peppers.

To Copyboy: You suck at my movie game because you are not eating your wheaties.

To Asblackasobama: I like New York but it's ultimately too expensive to live here after I get married and start a family. I don't know where I would move to.

Q & A: Responses

I got some good answers to my last Q & A post. For some reason nobody asked me any random questions so I will answer my own questions.

If you could bring any fictional character to life, who would it be and why? (movies, tv, books, etc)

I would bring Jessica Rabbit (from Who Framed Roger Rabbit?) into our world.

How did you stumble across my blog (if you remember) and what keeps you reading it?

I do occasionally go back and read my old posts for fun. Sometimes I'm like, why did I write that?

In only 6 words, why do you blog?

I like sharing my random thoughts.

Here is what you all said.....

ASBLACKASOBAMA said...

I Think It's Interesting

Q & A: Answers

Here are the Q & A questions and responses from last week. I had fun with this idea. I will do more Q & A posts in the future. If you want to know what they answered to my question check out the comments under the original Q & A post. Thanks for playing.

Jerry: If you were to die today, what is the one thing you would want to do? This is a tough question to answer, so many options. I can answer this question seriously or humorously. I’m going to combine the two. I have always wanted to go skydiving so I would want to do that but naked.

T.S. Hendrik: If you had to invent a sport out of two existing sports, what would they be, and what position would you play? I love this question, it’s so creative and original. I would combine the olympic luge and bowling. I think there would be only one position, helmet optional.

ASBLACKASOBAMA
: If you could meet your idol, who would you meet and where would you meet him or her? My idol is Bob Barker and I would meet him on The Price is Right, of course but I would have to travel back through time to when he was still the host.
