Did you know?
During the Civil war more people died of illness and disease than they did during battle. Dysentery and diarrhea ran rampant through the soldiers. It was so bad that there was an honor code amongst soldiers that you did not shoot a man if he was pooping.
That would be a pretty shitty way to die.

Yes, I'd heard that disease, along with the cold and starvation, killed a lot of soldiers.
Dysentery was a common killer in the wars for a very long time. It knocked out a few kings and princes who did battle.

I knew this and this seemed to be the case in most wars. Those men must have just been pooped
sadly I was aware of that. Growing up in PA, Gettysburg was a must see. Learned plenty of Civil War facts. But I missed this poop shooting one. That's why I read your blog.
I did now that. It's good that things are better now.
